One of the re-current themes throughout our discovery process was that the female body already "knows" how to birth a baby. That knowledge, however, has been suppressed by decades, if not centuries, of ignorance of our bodies masquerading as modesty (I believe it is possible to be knowledgeable about your own biology and still be modest), and rendered obsolete in many instances by the wonders of modern medicine.* This is why I try to use words like "exploration", "discovery" and "awareness" (and the variations thereof) when speaking of our progression in knowledge throughout my pregnancy. The idea is that I already "knew" how to have my baby. I just didn't know I knew.
:)
*Medicine has saved and prolonged many lives, especially when it comes to the birthing process. It does, however, seem to me that the best use of modern medical practices, if you opt to use them at all, is in CONJUNCTION with our bodies natural tendencies and abilities, as opposed to replacing our bodies capabilities with artificial urges.
